A member of the Sport Ancash's coaching staff, the opposing team, was reportedly accused of giving players from Hijos de Acosvinchos drugged water before the match.
"Someone from the their (Sport Ancash) coaching staff, it must have been the equipment manager, the physical therapist or maybe the water boy, stepped onto the field and we shared drinks," said Andy Salinas, the first player to faint.
After running tests at a local hospital, benzodiazepine, a psychoactive drug with depressant effects, was reportedly found in the players' bloodstream.
Sport Ancash President José Mallaqui told generaccion.com that the players had eaten rotisserie chicken before the game and that is what caused the incident. Scroll down to watch the video.
